Watch others in a social gathering, and someone is checking his e-mail. Watch ourselves with a smart phone in our hands, and that someone could be us.
Our urge to check e-mail is disproportionately high, and out-of-sync with reality, well-being and possibly sanity. Most of the e-mails we receive are either non- critical announcements of events or just plain junk, and should go straight into the trash.
